The DC Restaurant Group started with its first location, The Bottom Line, in 1979. Founded by Dick Heidenberger, the group has since expanded to include 15 locations between Washington, D.C. and the Delaware beaches. Dick's longtime partner, Michael "Mickey" Tobin, helped launch their second location, The Madhatter, back in 1982. Both locations are still open today some 40 years later. 15 years ago Dick's sons, Alex and Eric Heidenberger, joined as partners and have helped expand group operations launching 5 new concepts in just the last 8 years (Shaw's Tavern, 801 Restaurant & Bar, Prost, Heidaway Bethany, & Vagabond).
